Winning Texas is a stepping stone for Democrats to take and keep control of in our country for decades. Once we put together a coalition of voters to win a Texas U.S. Senate seat, the next step is to win races for governor, the state Supreme Court, and the president in the state.
When we win those Texas statewide races, Democrats can then redraw congressional districts based on the 2030 census. That would mean a few dozen more U.S. House seats for Democrats.
If Texas turns from purple to blue, Democrats are sitting good. Republicans have very few options to win a majority of seats in the U.S. House or delegates in the Electoral College.
Georgia has already turned light blue. Texas is next.
